Is this real Himalayan salt?
Yes. The cup holds rough cut chunks of Himalayan salt, loose rather than moulded, which is why no two lamps are filled the same way and why the light comes through unevenly.
Does it purify the air?
No. We don't make that claim. You will see negative ion and air purifying claims all over this category, and the research does not support meaningful air purification from a salt lamp. What this does is simpler: a warm pool of light from real salt, and a scent you chose.
How does the diffuser work without water?
There is a felt ring around the light in the base, and the oil goes in first, while the lamp is still unplugged. Lift the salt cup off, put a few drops of essential oil on the felt, set the cup back, then plug in and press. The lamp's warmth carries the scent while it is on. There is no tank, no mist and nothing to refill. Oil is not included.
Can I keep it on the warm colour, or does it only cycle?
It holds. The first press gives you the warm amber and it stays there until you press again. The second press starts a slow colour change, and pressing on from there holds a fixed colour. Hold the button for about three seconds to switch it off.
How big is it, really?
About 9.8 cm across and 10.8 cm tall, and about 500 g. It fits in one hand. It is made for a nightstand, a desk or a shelf, and it is not meant to light a whole room.
How is it powered?
From any USB port over the cable in the box: a laptop, a wall adapter, or a power bank. There is no battery and nothing to charge, so it stays plugged in while it is on.
My last salt lamp got damp. Will this one?
Salt draws moisture out of the air, so in a humid room you may see beads form on the surface. Wipe them off with a dry cloth and keep the lamp somewhere dry. Keep the USB port dry too.
